June 27 (V7N) -- Bangladesh Army personnel recovered stolen round logs worth about Tk 1.5 million in a swift operation in Naniarchar upazila of Rangamati. The army’s prompt and effective action has brought relief to locals after the large cache of timber was recovered.

According to reports, miscreants stole round logs worth around Tk 1.5 million at market price from the Rubber Bagan area of the upazila late Friday night. On Saturday morning, log owner and trader Md Sohel informed the Naniarchar Army Zone about the incident.

Victim trader Md Sohel said that after learning of the theft, he contacted Senior Warrant Officer Shahidullah of Naniarchar Army Zone around 7:00 am and provided the necessary information.

Upon receiving the report, Senior Warrant Officer Shahidullah, under the direction of Naniarchar Zone Commander Lt Col Mashiur Rahman, located the stolen logs using his own sources. A B-type patrol team of the army then conducted a raid in the Krishna Ma Chhara Pukur area and recovered the stolen logs.

After the operation, trader Md Sohel arrived at the scene and identified the recovered logs as his.

Locals said the army’s quick and professional operation made it possible to recover the large amount of stolen timber. The incident has further strengthened public confidence in the law and order situation in the area.

According to residents, such proactive efforts by the Bangladesh Army are playing a vital role in curbing crime and once again demonstrate their commitment to protecting people’s lives and property.
