JHALAKATHI, MAY 23 (V7N) - Voluntary youth organization "Pratoy Tarun Sangha" successfully conducted a comprehensive garbage cleanup and sanitation drive at a local graveyard on Friday morning. The humanitarian initiative saw spontaneous participation from the organization's executive committee and general members, who dedicated their morning to clearing debris, wild vegetation, and waste from the final resting place of regional residents.
Notable local figures attended the event to support the voluntary drive. Professor Dr. Asim Kumar Saha joined as the chief guest, alongside prominent social workers Chittaranjan Dutta, Hasan Mahmud, and Md. Russell Howlader as special guests. The drive was organized and executed under the leadership of Pratoy Tarun Sangha's core committee, including President Yubaraj Das, Senior Vice-President Shakil Howlader Roni, General Secretary Hridoy Karmakar, and organizing secretaries Sudeb Dutta and Md. Rakib.
"The cemetery is not just a place of eternal rest for the dead; it is a sacred space for us to learn, remember, and self-criticize. Our parents, relatives, and loved ones lie here, making the cleanliness and maintenance of these grounds a deep moral and social responsibility." — Professor Dr. Asim Kumar Saha, Chief Guest
General Secretary Hridoy Karmakar emphasized that the cleanliness program was organized to reflect human and religious values rather than just basic social civic duties. The executive body stated that the youth group plans to continue similar environmental and social welfare maintenance drives across the district to promote community responsibility and respect for shared public spaces.
