RANGAMATI, May 11, (V7N) – In a special operation conducted by Kotwali Police Station, Rangamati District Police arrested eight individuals, including fugitives with warrants, drug users, drug dealers, and theft case suspects.

The operation was carried out Saturday night under the direction of Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib, PPM, and led by Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Jasim Uddin. Police teams raided several areas of Rangamati Municipality, including Reserve Bazar, Paratun slum, hospital area, and Bhedbhedi.

Among those arrested were fugitive accused Subhash Das (40), Monni Das (36), and Md. Raihan Uddin (23), wanted in cases GR-13/26 and GR-01/26. Others include Yusuf (24) and Md. Irfan ul Quader (32) on drug use charges, Md. Sohel (26) for drug dealing, and Punya Chakma (35) along with Shyamal Bikash Chakma alias Mizkala Chakma (29) in theft cases.

OC Md. Jasim Uddin confirmed the arrests and said necessary legal action is being taken against all detainees. He emphasized the police’s commitment to tackling crime and ensuring justice.

Rangamati District Police stated that such special operations will continue to maintain law and order, curb criminal activities, and strengthen public safety across the district.
