Pabna, APR 29 (V7N) - Pabna Press Club, one of the oldest and most traditional in the country, is about to enter its 66th year after completing 65 years of glory and tradition. To commemorate this glorious chapter of its long journey, a three-day colorful program has been organized from May 1 to May 3.

The festival will begin with cake cutting and sweet face-off at 10 am on Friday (May 1). On the second day of the program, on Saturday (May 2), a colorful procession will be taken out from the Pabna Press Club premises at 10 am. On that day, a friendly gathering will be held at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium at 3:30 pm. There will be a delightful cultural program at 6:45 pm on the same day.

A family reunion, raffle draw and prize distribution ceremony will be held at the Press Club Auditorium on the closing day (Sunday, May 3) evening. On the second day of the program, on May 2, Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu MP will be present as the chief guest at the event.

Pabna Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar will preside over the program, and Pabna-5 MP Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas will be present as the keynote speaker. The program will be inaugurated by Pabna Press Club former president, honorary life member and prominent industrialist freedom fighter Anjan Chowdhury Pintu.

State Minister for Social Welfare Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul, Pabna-2 MP AKM Selim Reza Habib, Pabna-4 MP Professor Abu Taleb Mondal, Pabna-1 MP Mohammad Nazibur Rahman and Pabna-3 MP Muhammad Ali Asgar will be present as special guests.

In addition, Advocate Arifa Sultana Ruma, nominated by BNP for the reserved women's seat as a member of parliament, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (Youth Employment) Md. Sayed Bin Abdullah, District Council Administrator Freedom Fighter Mohammad Zahurul Islam Bishu, Deputy Commissioner Md. Aminul Islam and Superintendent of Police Md. Anwar Zahid will be present as special guests.

Prominent artists including Close-Up One star Sadia Sultana Liza and National Film Award-winning artist Muhin Khan will perform at the cultural event.

Pabna Press Club President Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar and General Secretary Zahurul Islam said that all preparations for the grand event to celebrate the 65th anniversary have been completed. They also said that Pabna Press Club was established on May 1, 1961. On the same day, Bangladesh Journalists' Association, the only organization to realize the demands of the district journalists at that time, was formed. Since the beginning of its journey, Pabna Press Club has been able to gain trust from all quarters as a prestigious institution with 100% professionalism. During this long period, members who participated in the great language movement and the great liberation war joined the Pabna Press Club.
