RAJSHAHI, April 25 (V7N) — A meeting was held at Sarit Duttgupta Nagar Hall of Nagar Bhaban to discuss the feasibility study of a new project proposed by the Rajshahi City Corporation (RASIC) with financial assistance from the Bangladesh Municipal Development Fund (BMDF).
The session was chaired by Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Honorable Administrator of RASIC, who emphasized that the City Corporation is a citizen service organization entrusted by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to ensure development and public services. “With BMDF’s support, the feasibility of the new project will be examined, and a decision will be taken later. With cooperation from all, we want to showcase Rajshahi in the world arena,” he said.
Md. Khalilur Rahman, Joint Secretary of the Local Government Department and Managing Director of BMDF, attended along with BMDF representatives.
The meeting was also joined by RASIC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Roads and Highways Supervising Engineer Ahsan Uddin Ahmed, RASIC Secretary Sohel Rana, Chief Cleaning Officer Sheikh Md. Mamun Dollar, Acting Supervising Engineer Ahmed Al Moin Parag, Budget and Accounts Officer Shafiqul Islam Khan, BMDF Engineer Infrastructure Tanvir Hossain, and Financial Analyst Md. Inamul Haque, among others.
BMDF’s Urban Development Specialist Ahmed Zaman Tariq presented the overall activities of the project, outlining its scope and potential impact.
The meeting reflected a collaborative effort between local government and BMDF to strengthen urban development, improve citizen services, and position Rajshahi as a model city in Bangladesh.
