Sylhet, April 24 (V7N): Leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s student wing staged a protest rally and held a brief gathering in Sylhet on Thursday, condemning an alleged attack by rival activists on students and party members at Chattogram City College.

The procession began from Registry Field in the city and marched through major roads before concluding at the Central Shaheed Minar premises, where a short rally was held.

The protest was chaired by Sylhet District Chhatra Dal President Zuber Ahmed and conducted by Metropolitan unit Organizing Secretary Rubel Islam. Metropolitan General Secretary Fazle Rabbi Ahsan attended as the chief guest.

Speakers alleged that attempts are being made to destabilize educational institutions through attacks on general students and Chhatra Dal activists. They strongly condemned the reported incident in Chattogram and demanded that those responsible be brought to justice swiftly.

A large number of leaders and activists from district and metropolitan units, including vice presidents, joint secretaries, and representatives from colleges, upazilas, and ward levels, were present at the event.

From the rally, Chhatra Dal leaders warned that any future attacks on general students would be met with strong resistance.
