SYLHET, April 15 (V7N) — Sylhet is welcoming Bangla Noboborsho 1433 with a series of colorful cultural programs across the city, organized by local groups, universities, and colleges.

The celebrations began early Tuesday morning, with Anandalok hosting its annual program at Srihatta Sanskrit College from 8 am to 2 pm. Meanwhile, Shruti arranged a day‑long event at Blue Bird School grounds, running from 7 am to 5 pm.

At the Chowhatta area, Charan organized a vibrant festival at Lolananda Naish High School grounds, while Sylhet Arts College led a Baisakhi procession from its Kumarpara campus at 10 am, followed by cultural performances and a painting exhibition.

Universities also joined in the festivities. Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and MC College hosted their own programs, drawing large crowds of youth eager to celebrate Pahela Baishakh.

On the eve of the New Year, April 13, the Sammilit Natya Parishad, Sylhet held a program at Chandni Ghat, beginning at 3 pm and continuing into the evening, setting the tone for today’s celebrations.
