RAJSHAHI, Mar 17, (V7N) — A discussion meeting on cleanliness was held Tuesday afternoon with ward secretaries and cleanliness supervisors from 30 wards of Rajshahi City Corporation (RASIC) at the Nagar Bhaban City Hall.

Speaking as chief guest, RASIC Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said he intends to work “not as an administrator, but as a servant of the people.” He urged cooperation from all staff to ensure citizen services and emphasized that his responsibility is to protect and develop the city in line with directives from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

“I want to protect it by talking to the people. Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given me the responsibility of developing this city, and with your cooperation, I want to fulfill that responsibility properly,” Riton said.

He stressed that every ward must sincerely fulfill its duties to maintain cleanliness. Wards achieving success in cleanliness will be rewarded in the future, he announced.

The meeting was presided over by RASIC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim. The welcome speech was delivered by Chief Cleaning Officer Sheikh Md. Mamun. RASIC Secretary Sohel Rana, Acting Superintending Engineer Ahmed Al Moin Parag, and other officials were present.

Deputy Chief Cleaning Officer Selim Reza Ranju moderated the session, which focused on strengthening civic services and ensuring a cleaner, greener Rajshahi. Officials said the initiative reflects the administrator’s commitment to building a modern and prosperous city with citizen engagement at the center of future development efforts.
