JHALAKATHI, Mar 12, (V7N) – The Anti‑Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against 11 police personnel, including four inspectors, for allegedly embezzling nearly Tk 4 crore through fake ration cards at the Jhalakathi Police Lines ration center.

The case was lodged Thursday by ACC Assistant Director Md. Zakir Hossain at the ACC’s Pirojpur Integrated District Office.

Between 2013 and December 2021, a total of 252 fake ration cards were created.

Using these cards, ration items worth Tk 394,40,885 were withdrawn and embezzled.

The accused allegedly abused their official positions to commit fraud and misappropriation.

ACC Assistant Director Zakir Hossain said the case was filed under relevant sections of the Penal Code and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
