PABNA, Mar 12, (V7N) – Police in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna have arrested three people, including a cousin of the victim, for their involvement in the killing of teenage van driver Imran Hossain (17) during a robbery attempt.
The body of Imran, son of the late Omar Ali of Shukurbhanga village in Parshadanga union, was recovered Thursday morning.
According to relatives, Imran’s cousin Sumon Hossain rented his auto‑van on Wednesday evening along with Helal and two others. They roamed different areas until around 10 pm, when the group allegedly beat Imran in the Ramchandrapur crematorium area with the intention of snatching his van and mobile phone. Later, they reportedly hanged him and left his body at the site before taking shelter in a house in neighboring Bhangura upazila.
Family members, unable to locate Imran, traced the suspects to Bhangura. Locals detained the three after finding inconsistencies in their statements and evidence linking them to the crime. Upon questioning, the suspects admitted to the killing.
Chatmohar Police Station Officer‑in‑Charge Golam Sarwar Hossain said Imran’s body bore multiple bloody injury marks. It has been sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police have taken the three accused into custody and are conducting operations to recover the hijacked auto‑van.
