PABNA, Mar 10, (V7N) – Ten‑year‑old Abdullah, who accidentally boarded a train and went missing for eight months, was finally reunited with his family on Monday thanks to the efforts of the Ishwardi Railway Police Station.
Abdullah, son of Mamun Mia of Rajapur Union, Burichang upazila, Comilla, disappeared in early July last year after leaving home for school. He mistakenly boarded a train and never returned.
On Sunday night, Md. Iftekharul Islam, Superintendent of Ishwardi Railway Junction Station, spotted the boy and handed him over to the GRP Police Station. Officers launched a campaign across police stations and social media to identify him.
By Monday morning, Abdullah’s brothers Fahim and Rishat arrived at the station to take him home. Witnesses described an emotional reunion as Abdullah hugged his brothers and broke down in tears, creating a deeply moving atmosphere.
GRP OC Ziaur Rahman said, “After finding the child, he could not give his address. Later, we launched campaigns in various ways. Finally, his identity was confirmed and the family was informed. We changed his clothes, gave him new ones, and after completing legal procedures, handed him over to his family.”
Family members expressed immense relief and joy, saying they had searched tirelessly for Abdullah but never lost hope.
