RANGAMATI, Feb 28, (V7N) - As part of an ongoing anti-narcotics drive in Rangamati, the District Detective Branch (DB) police arrested another drug dealer on Thursday afternoon. The accused, Robi Hasan Prakash Robi, was detained in front of Rangashree Community Hall, opposite Janata Bank, in Happy Mor area of Rangamati town. During the search, police recovered 51 pieces of Yaba tablets from his possession.
The operation was led by SI Mohammad Salah Uddin Khan under the direction of Superintendent of Police Muhammad Abdur Rakib PPM and supervised by Detective Police Inspector Md. Enamul Haque. Police later confirmed that the accused had two previous cases filed against him, and necessary legal action is being taken.
Earlier on Wednesday, a separate team from Kotwali Police Station and District DB Police arrested four individuals, including a convict in 22 cases, during another raid in Rangamati. They were also found in possession of Yaba tablets.
District police authorities reiterated their commitment to eradicating drugs from society. They urged the administration, families, and conscious citizens to join hands in protecting the youth from the dangers of narcotics.
The arrests highlight the continuation of Rangamati’s anti-drug campaign, which has intensified in recent months as law enforcement seeks to dismantle networks distributing Yaba and other illicit substances.
