Dhaka, Feb 12, (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee member and Dhaka-8 candidate Mirza Abbas said Thursday that voting in the 13th parliamentary election was proceeding fairly and peacefully.
Speaking to reporters after casting his ballot at the Women’s College polling centre, Abbas remarked, “The election is peaceful and going well. Until 12:40 p.m., the voting has been good and fair.”
He cautioned against manipulation of results, stressing, “Engineered results will not be accepted.” Abbas alleged attempts were being made to create instability during voting but expressed confidence in the electorate, saying, “Attempts are being made to create chaos, but the people will respond through the ballot.”
