Ukhia (Cox’s Bazar), Feb 10 (V7N) – A fire broke out at the Balukhali Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila on Tuesday evening, damaging several huts. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.

The fire erupted at around 7:30 pm at C-6 block of Rohingya Camp No. 9 in Balukhali area. According to local residents and eyewitnesses, the blaze is initially believed to have originated from an LPG gas cylinder.

Soon after the fire broke out, it spread rapidly to nearby shelters, triggering panic among camp residents. Upon receiving the information, a unit of the Ukhia Fire Service rushed to the spot and managed to bring the fire under control with joint efforts.

Confirming the incident, Ukhia Fire Service Station Master Dollar Tripura said that several structures were damaged in the fire, but the extent of damage was minor and the situation is now fully under control.
