Jhalokathi, Jan 12 (V7N) — More than a hundred members of the Hindu community have joined Jamaat-e-Islami in Sadar Upazila of Jhalokathi district, creating widespread attention across the area.
The induction took place on Saturday night during the award ceremony of a cricket tournament organized by the Bangladesh Workers Welfare Federation in Kirtipasha Union. The new members were welcomed into the party with floral greetings by Hafizur Rahman, district Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, and Sheikh Neyamul Karim, the party-nominated parliamentary candidate for Jhalokathi-2 constituency.
Hafizur Rahman stated, “Over a hundred Hindus have joined Jamaat. The trust and confidence in Jamaat-e-Islami are steadily growing, which is why even non-Muslims are now becoming part of the party.”
The induction of such a large number of Hindu community members has generated significant attention throughout the district. Sujit Gharami, a resident of Kirtipasha Union who joined the party, said, “We were deeply inspired by the principles, discipline, and social welfare activities of Jamaat-e-Islami. That is why we voluntarily joined the party.”
Highlighting Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to the safety and well-being of all communities, Hafizur Rahman added, “We will work together with people of all faiths to build a new Bangladesh.”
