Khagrachhari, Aug 26 (V7N) - On Tuesday afternoon, HM Prafulla, General Secretary of the Khagrachhari Press Club, filed a case at the Khagrachhari Magistrate Court alleging attempted murder and defamation by former State Minister Kujendra Lal Tripura.
Ashraf Rony, the plaintiff’s legal counsel, confirmed that Judge Tarek Aziz Raihan of the Khagrachhari Magistrate Court accepted the complaint and directed the Officer-in-Charge of Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station to investigate the matter.
According to the complaint, on August 4, 2024, HM Prafulla was attacked with the intention to kill while covering a student-led protest in Khagrachhari. The complaint further alleges that false and misleading information was later spread about him on social media platforms in an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
The case directly names seven individuals and includes 120 unidentified persons as accused. The plaintiff claims that all actions were carried out under the direction of Kujendra Lal Tripura.
Legal proceedings are now underway, and law enforcement authorities are expected to begin an investigation as per the court’s order. No official statement has yet been issued by Kujendra Lal Tripura or his representatives regarding the allegations.
