Hobiganj, June 29 (V7N) — A mobile court convened in Mohabbatpur, under Chaumuhani Union of Madhabpur Upazila, has fined a local resident Tk 1 lakh for unauthorized and illicit sand extraction and sale.
 
The mobile court, led by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Mujibul Islam, was held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025. During the proceedings, Saimum Mia, son of Monir Mia of Harshpur village in Bijoynagar Police Station, Brahmanbaria district, was found guilty under the Sand and Earth Management Act of 2010 and immediately fined Tk 100,000.
 
The enforcement operation included the presence of a land assistant officer from Chaumuhani Union, a representative from the Montola Land Office, and a vigilant team from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
 
Speaking to the media, AC (Land) Mujibul Islam stated, “This action was taken in the public interest and such operations will continue in the future to ensure lawful resource management.”
