Dhaka, Aug 09 (V7N) – The prosecution has asked the Task Force for Interrogation Cell (TFI Cell) to produce former army officer Ziaul Ahsan before the tribunal in a case concerning the alleged abduction and torture of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
The prosecution said Ziaul Ahsan could be shown arrested in the case after being produced before the tribunal.
Earlier on Saturday (August 8), Chief Prosecutor Aminul Islam said the investigation agency had found alleged involvement of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Ziaul Ahsan, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and senior officials of the then RAB and police in the abduction case.
Salahuddin Ahmed, who was then a BNP Joint Secretary General, was abducted from Uttara in Dhaka in 2015.
According to the investigation agency of the tribunal, Salahuddin was allegedly abducted and subsequently held at the TFI Cell, described as a secret detention facility at the headquarters of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
The prosecution is now seeking Ziaul Ahsan's appearance before the tribunal as part of the proceedings in the case.
