DHAKA, July 28, (v7n) – The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today stayed a High Court order that had directed the authorities not to show anyone arrested, arrest, or harass in the absence of a specific case against them.

A four-member Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury passed the order, directing the High Court to dispose of the rule it had issued in this connection within four weeks.

The High Court had earlier issued the order and a rule directing authorities not to show anyone arrested, arrest, or harass without a specific case against them.

Today, Attorney General Md Ruhul Quddus Kazol argued for the state, while Barrister Sara Hossain and Advocate Motahar Hossain Sazu stood for the opposing party.
