Dhaka, Aug 26 (V7N) – President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh has appointed 25 new judges to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court. The Law Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Monday, by order of the President, in consultation with the Chief Justice under Article 95(1) of the Constitution.
According to the notification, the following 25 persons have been appointed as Additional Judges of the High Court Division for a period not exceeding two years from the date of oath:

The notification also noted that the Law Secretary who signed the appointment order has himself been appointed as a judge.
Earlier in the day, the government transferred 230 judges of district courts in 19 districts, including Dhaka. Among them are 41 district judges, 53 additional district and sessions judges, 40 joint district and sessions judges, and 96 senior assistant judges and assistant judge-level officers.
