Dhaka, Nov 03 (V7N)- Enamul Haque Khan Dolon has been elected President of the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) in the organization’s biennial election, the results of which were announced at a press conference held at the BAJUS office in the capital on Monday morning.
Top leaders of the association were present during the announcement. In his remarks, the newly elected president emphasized the need to simplify the gold import process for the sector’s development. He also called for a reduction in VAT on gold imports, assuring that all gold imports would be conducted legally and would contribute to the national economy.
The term of the current committee will expire on Tuesday (November 4), after which the new committee will formally take charge.
According to BAJUS officials, all 35 members of the new Board of Directors were elected unopposed. Due to legal obligations, no member of the previous committee was eligible to participate in this election.
