Dhaka, Oct 31 (V7N)- The price of gold has been reduced again in Bangladesh’s market. The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced a reduction of Tk 2,613 per bhori for 22-carat gold, bringing the new price down to Tk 2,07,096 per bhori.

The revised prices were announced in a BAJUS press release issued on Thursday (October 30) night. The new rates have taken effect from Friday (October 31).

According to BAJUS, the price adjustment was made due to a fall in the price of pure gold in the local market. Considering the overall situation, new rates have been set as follows:

  • 22-carat gold: Tk 2,07,096 per bhori

  • 21-carat gold: Tk 1,90,998 per bhori

  • 18-carat gold: Tk 1,63,716 per bhori

  • Traditional gold (Sanatan): Tk 1,36,014 per bhori

BAJUS also noted that the government-imposed 5% VAT and a minimum making charge of 6% set by the association must be added to the selling price. However, the actual making charge may vary depending on the jewelry’s design and craftsmanship.
