Dhaka, Sep 05 (V7N)- There is no point in holding a long march over gas and electricity, said Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Abdus Salam.
He made the remarks at a waste exchange market program in Kamrangirchar, Dhaka, on Saturday (September 5) afternoon.
Abdus Salam said the current gas and electricity problems are the legacy of the previous government. He said it is not possible for the present government to resolve all the problems overnight after assuming office.
He said the government inherited significant debts when it came to power. Despite this, the government has repaid a record amount of debt within just six months, he claimed.
The DSCC administrator also said that the fuel being consumed by the 11-party unity during its long march itself amounts to a waste of resources.
He further remarked that the opposition should instead appreciate the BNP government for the progress it has made in addressing the country's financial challenges.
