Dhaka, Sep 05 (V7N)- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Hossain Fakir has said that police officers allegedly involved in conspiracies against the government have been identified.
He made the remarks while participating in a tree plantation and cleanliness program at Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College on Saturday (September 5) morning.
The IGP said less than 1 percent of Bangladesh Police officers are dishonest and alleged that some of them are conspiring against the government. He said those officers have already been identified.
He also alleged that some "yellow journalists" are continuously publishing what he described as conspiratorial reports to put pressure on the government. He further said some content creators are spreading fabricated and baseless information on social media and should also be identified.
Regarding reports of missing children, Ali Hossain Fakir said incidents of children going missing had occurred in the past as well, but the issue is now being exaggerated and widely publicized through the media.
He described the trend as part of a conspiracy and said police have so far traced 87 percent of the children reported missing.
Earlier, while attending a tree plantation program at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, the IGP said drug dealers and robbers were not being kept in jail for long despite repeated arrests because of loopholes in the law.
He also expressed concern over the growing severity of juvenile crime in the country, particularly in Dhaka.
