Dhaka, Aug 03 (V7N) – Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir has said Bangladesh's partnership with China is creating new opportunities in the areas of economy, trade, investment and supply chain cooperation.
He made the remarks while speaking at a programme held at the Biz Auditorium in the capital on Monday (August 3).
The adviser said Bangladesh-China relations are poised to enter a new phase over the next 50 years, opening the door to broader economic cooperation and development. He stressed the importance of utilizing China's advanced technology to accelerate industrialization, generate employment and diversify Bangladesh's export base.
Humayun Kabir also described Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's recent visit to China as a new milestone in bilateral relations, saying the visit had strengthened cooperation between the two countries across multiple sectors.
Speaking at the same event, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen said Dhaka and Beijing have agreed to further align their national development strategies alongside continued implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The ambassador added that the two countries have made positive progress on several major cooperation projects, including the integrated management of the Teesta River, the modernization of Mongla Port and efforts to advance the China-Myanmar-Bangladesh Economic Corridor (CMBC).
Both Bangladesh and China expressed optimism that deeper cooperation in infrastructure, trade, investment and connectivity would further strengthen bilateral relations and contribute to sustainable economic growth in the years ahead.
