Dhaka, Jul 16 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty or squally winds in eight regions of the country.

According to the inland river port weather forecast issued on Thursday, such weather conditions are likely to prevail until 9:00 a.m.

The BMD said that Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions may experience temporary rain or thundershowers accompanied by south or southeasterly winds blowing at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour.

In view of the forecast, the Meteorological Department has advised inland river ports in the affected regions to display Warning Signal No. 1.

Authorities have urged operators of boats and other river vessels to exercise caution while navigating in the affected areas until weather conditions improve.
