Dhaka, Dec 08 (V7N) — The Election Commission (EC) has registered a total of 81 local election observer organisations ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament election and referendum.

The information was disclosed on Monday by the Public Relations Branch of the Election Commission.

According to the EC, the registration process was completed in two phases. In the first phase, 66 local observer organisations were registered on November 6 this year, with registration validity extending until November 5, 2030.

Later, in the second phase, the Election Commission granted final approval to 15 additional observer organisations after completing scrutiny procedures. These organisations were registered for a five-year term, effective from December 4, 2025, to December 3, 2030.

Under the Election Observation Policy 2025, the registered organisations will be eligible to observe the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, as well as various local government elections, the EC said.

The registration of observer organisations is part of the Commission’s broader efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and credibility in the electoral process.
