Dhaka, Nov 24 (V7N)-Farida Akhtar, Advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, said the government is working to reduce feed prices by lowering production costs. She made the remarks at a briefing at the Secretariat on Monday, ahead of the first-ever National Livestock Week.
The advisor explained that efforts are being made to reduce electricity costs for feed manufacturing factories, which will, in turn, lower the price of animal feed.
She also announced that the National Livestock Week will be observed nationwide for the first time from November 26 to December 2, with the main ceremony to be held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Room in Dhaka. During the week, fifteen individuals will be honored across five categories for their contributions to various fields of agriculture.
Responding to questions, Farida Akhtar noted that no government can complete all tasks in a single term, emphasizing that many initiatives launched by the current government will be continued and completed by the next elected government.
