Dhaka, Nov 22 (V7N) — Election Commissioner Abul Fazal Mohammad Sanaullah has said that the upcoming 13th parliamentary election will be a historic turning point for Bangladesh, marking the true restart of democratic practice in the country.
He made the remarks on Saturday morning while speaking at a workshop organized by the Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL).
Sanaullah said the current Election Commission is fully prepared to conduct a fair, acceptable, and impartial election. However, he acknowledged that combating misinformation on social media and the misuse of artificial intelligence will be major challenges in ensuring transparency during the national polls.
The Election Commissioner also expressed optimism that a record number of international observers will take part in the election.
“They all want to be part of a historic election,” he said, emphasizing global interest in Bangladesh’s democratic transition.
The 13th national election is being widely viewed as a critical moment for restoring credibility and stability to the country’s electoral process.
