Dhaka, Oct 14 (V7N) — The National Typhoid Vaccination Program has entered its third day across the country, with vaccination activities taking place in schools nationwide since Tuesday (October 14) morning.

Under this month-long campaign, the government aims to vaccinate around five crore children and adolescents free of cost to protect them from typhoid fever.

Vaccination is being administered at schools from October 12 to 30, and at community clinics from November 1 to 13. Registration for the vaccine can be completed both online and manually, even without a birth certificate.

Parents can register online at https://vaxepi.gov.bd/registration/tcv using their child’s 17-digit birth registration number. After registration, the vaccine card can be downloaded directly. Children without a birth certificate can still receive the vaccine with the assistance of health workers at the nearest vaccination center.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the goal of the initiative is to ensure universal vaccination coverage for children across Bangladesh. The Serum Institute of India supplied the vaccine, while Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, supported the government in implementing the program.
