Dhaka, Oct 12 (V7N) – The National Typhoid Vaccination Campaign will officially begin on Sunday (October 12) to protect children across the country from typhoid fever, according to a press release issued by Mahmudul Hasan, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The campaign will be inaugurated at the Sir Salimullah Muslim Orphanage Center in Azimpur, Dhaka, with Health and Family Welfare Advisor Nurjahan Begum attending as the chief guest.

According to the ministry, around 16.8 million people have registered for the typhoid vaccine so far. Registration can be completed both online and manually, using birth certificates or other valid documents.

Children can receive the vaccine at nearby schools from October 12 to 30, and at community clinics from November 1 to 13.

The month-long campaign aims to vaccinate around 50 million children aged between 9 months and 15 years, free of charge, as part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen national immunization and reduce preventable diseases.
