Chattogram, Oct 11 (V7N) – Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AAM Nasir Uddin has instructed officials to shut down polling stations immediately if any attempt is made to disrupt the upcoming parliamentary elections — even if it requires closing the entire constituency.

He gave these instructions while addressing a discussion meeting with presiding and returning officers in Chattogram on Saturday (October 11).

The CEC said, “If anyone causes disruption on election day, the polling station must be closed. Today, you are the chief officers of your centers. You have full legal authority, and we will not hesitate to act.”

Nasir Uddin assured the officials that the Election Commission will extend full support to ensure a fair voting process. He also stressed that law enforcement agencies must demonstrate impartiality through their actions.

Highlighting the importance of teamwork, the Chief Election Commissioner added, “There is no alternative to coordination if we are to hold a credible election.”
