Dhaka, Oct 10 (V7N) – Bangladesh has welcomed the ongoing dialogue between Hamas and Israel aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza, describing diplomacy and negotiation as the only viable means to resolve conflicts. The statement came in an official press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

The ministry said Bangladesh appreciates the international partners facilitating the diplomatic efforts to end the tragic humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Dhaka expressed hope that the ongoing peace talks will result in an immediate ceasefire, the resumption of humanitarian aid delivery, and relief from the immense suffering of the Palestinian people.

Bangladesh also reaffirmed that it expects the dialogue to pave the way for a permanent end to hostilities and the eventual establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine.

The statement added that Bangladesh remains ready to contribute to peacekeeping and reconstruction efforts in Gaza. It reiterated the country’s unwavering support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

Meanwhile, the Israeli government has indicated that the ceasefire agreement and prisoner exchange deal—brokered under the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan—will be implemented within 24 hours, pending cabinet approval.
