Dhaka, Sep 03 (V7N) – The Cyber Police Center of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested one of the masterminds behind the Public Service Commission (PSC) Thana Assistant Education Officer exam question leak syndicate.
CID Additional DIG Md. Zahidul Islam confirmed the arrest at a press briefing held at the CID headquarters in Malibagh on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Matiur Rahman, allegedly embezzled large sums of money through mobile banking before supplying leaked exam questions as “suggestions” via social media.
According to CID, Matiur collected payments through bKash, Nagad and Rocket, and later sent the leaked questions directly to candidates’ inboxes or via courier services. “The reputation of a constitutional institution like the PSC has been tarnished by such criminal activities,” said Additional DIG Zahidul Islam.
The arrest was made in Jamalpur district after investigators tracked the suspect’s mobile number and Facebook activity linked to the leak advertisements. CID confirmed that incriminating evidence, including financial transaction data, was recovered.
PSC Assistant Director Sukar Anjan Samajdar has filed a case against Matiur at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station. Officials also stated that several more individuals tied to the network have been identified and will be arrested soon.
