Dhaka, Aug 10 (V7N) – The government has retired nine unarmed police inspectors who served during the previous administration. The Ministry of Home Affairs’ Public Security Department published nine separate notifications on Sunday (August 10) announcing their retirement.

Deputy Secretary Nasimul Gani signed the notifications, issued by the Police-2 Branch of the Public Security Department on Thursday (August 7) under the orders of the President.

The retired officers are:

  • Md. Quddus Fakir

  • Md. Nurul Islam

  • Md. Kamal Hossain

  • S. M. Kamruzzaman

  • Md. Selimuzzaman

  • Md. Shamim Hossain

  • Md. Abdul Latif

  • Md. Abu Bakar Siddique

  • Mohammad Mamun Or Rashid

According to the notifications, the officers were retired from government service “in the public interest” under Section 45 of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). They will receive retirement benefits as per existing rules.
