Dhaka, June 21 (V7N) – Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin emphasized that no matter how independent the Election Commission (EC) is, elections cannot be held without the cooperation of the government.

He made the remarks on Saturday morning after inaugurating a training program on election laws and rules at the Election Training Institute.

Responding to journalists' questions, the CEC said, “Discussions will be held with the government on election-related issues when the time comes. Elections are not possible without the government’s cooperation.”

Nasir Uddin also noted that the Election Commission is in continuous contact with the government, which will play a key role in facilitating the election process. He added that the commission has an action plan in place to move election preparations forward but is ready to modify it if necessary.
