Dhaka, June 15 (V7N) — Women and Children Affairs Advisor Sharmin S Murshid has announced that the government is preparing to introduce visible policy measures aimed at reducing violence against women, which the public will soon notice. If effectively implemented, these initiatives are expected to help decrease violence against women to some extent.

Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday (June 15), the first working day after Eid, Murshid acknowledged that violence against women has long been a persistent issue in the country. She said that while progress is underway, it will take some more time to fully develop and establish the ongoing efforts.

“We have taken many actions and brought structural changes, although these have not yet been widely highlighted,” she stated. The advisor emphasized that victims are now receiving medical and legal assistance under close supervision. Additionally, arrangements are being made for supervision and rehabilitation of survivors.

Addressing workplace discipline after the Eid break, Sharmin S Murshid expressed hope that everyone would return to work with renewed vigor. “Higher-ranking officials do not get any vacation, while juniors enjoy their leave,” she noted, urging all to focus on their duties diligently.
