Dhaka, Nov 19 (V7N) – The government has issued an ordinance increasing the maximum age limit for entry into public sector jobs from 30 to 32 years.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin approved the ordinance on Monday, with the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division publishing it in the official gazette the same day to ensure public access to the information.

The revised age limit applies to appointments in government institutions, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, statutory authorities, public non-financial corporations, and self-governing organizations.

Previously, the age limit for general candidates was 30, while it was 32 for the children and grandchildren of freedom fighters.

The ordinance, which comes into immediate effect, standardizes the age limit for all eligible candidates seeking employment in these sectors.
