DHAKA, May 17, 2026 — The Meteorological Department has instructed river ports in eight regions — Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Jessore, Kushtia, and Faridpur — to hoist warning signal number 1.
The directive came in the inland river port weather forecast issued today, covering the period from 3:30 pm to 1:00 am tonight.
According to the weather office, temporary gusty or squally winds from the west or northwest, with speeds of 45–60 kmph, may sweep over these areas, accompanied by rain or thundershowers.
River ports in the affected regions have been advised to display warning signal number 1 as a precaution.
