Dhaka, Nov 26 (V7N) – A child lost one of his legs after falling under a moving train at the Airport Railway Station in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon. The boy, estimated to be 10–12 years old, was immediately rescued and taken by police to the National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute. His identity remains unknown.

According to Officer-in-Charge of Dhaka Railway Police, Zainal Abedin, the incident occurred around 4:30 pm when the boy fell under the Upakul Express running on the Dhaka–Noakhali route. It is believed that his foot slipped while attempting to board the train, causing it to be crushed under the wheels.

Railway officials noted that the child was unaccompanied, suggesting he might be a local resident or a street child. Eyewitnesses helped rescue him from beneath the train.

A video of the incident circulating on social media shows the child trapped under the train wheels, crying in pain and pleading for help. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident and urging caution around railway tracks.
