Washington, Sep 20 (V7N)- Four people were killed in a US military strike targeting a high-speed vessel allegedly involved in drug trafficking in the Caribbean Sea, the US military's Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said Saturday.

In a post on X, SOUTHCOM said intelligence had confirmed that the vessel was actively involved in drug trafficking.

According to the command, four people described as drug traffickers were killed in the operation.

SOUTHCOM did not immediately provide further details about the vessel, the specific location of the strike or the type of drugs allegedly being transported.

The operation comes as US authorities continue efforts to disrupt suspected drug-trafficking activities in the Caribbean and surrounding waters.
