Tehran, Aug 12 (V7N)- Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi has visited Tehran as part of Islamabad's efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States amid the ongoing conflict.
Naqvi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian after arriving in the Iranian capital on Tuesday (August 11). He also held talks with senior Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, on bilateral relations and regional security.
According to reports, discussions covered political, economic, commercial, cultural and security cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
Pakistan has been actively involved in diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions between Tehran and Washington. Islamabad has previously facilitated negotiations and has said it remains ready to play a role in de-escalating the conflict.
Qatar has also been involved in the mediation efforts. Pakistani officials have indicated that the two sides are close to reaching some form of arrangement, although there has been no confirmation of such an agreement from Tehran.
