Moscow, Aug 11 (V7N)- At least 13 people, including children, have been killed and 39 others injured in a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia's Tatarstan region.
The attack took place in Tatarstan, about 800 kilometers east of Moscow. The region is home to one of Russia's largest and most advanced oil refineries. At least seven of those killed were reportedly Uzbek citizens.
Ukraine claimed that the drone attack targeted an oil facility. However, Russia's Defense Ministry said its forces had intercepted more than 450 Ukrainian drones during intense exchanges of fire between the two sides.
According to Russian authorities, the drones targeted industrial facilities as well as civilian areas. They said the civilians affected had no connection to Russia's military operations.
Meanwhile, at least five people were killed in a separate Russian military operation in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine.
The latest incidents come amid continued attacks between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides increasingly targeting infrastructure and facilities far from the immediate front lines.
