Jerusalem, May 27 (V7N)- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned of an intensified military operation in Lebanon, as Israeli strikes in the south of the country reportedly killed at least 31 people and injured around 40 others.
Netanyahu said the Israeli military is expanding its operations and conducting what he described as a large-scale mission inside Lebanese territory, including efforts to secure control over strategic areas.
In a statement shared on social media, he claimed that Israeli forces have killed hundreds of Hezbollah fighters even during a US-brokered ceasefire in April.
He also said Israeli troops are establishing control over parts of southern Lebanon as part of a “security zone” strategy, which he referred to as a “yellow zone.”
Netanyahu further announced a nationwide effort to counter drone attacks by Hezbollah, saying the group has increasingly used advanced FPV drones that challenge Israel’s air defense systems.
He warned that the conflict with Hezbollah would continue, stating that operations would not stop until Israel’s security is fully ensured.
Hezbollah has not immediately issued a detailed response to the latest claims.
