Tunis, May 17 (V7N) — Tunisia and Turkey have officially announced that Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on May 27 this year, according to a report by Gulf News.

Authorities in both countries stated that Monday (May 18) will mark the first day of the Islamic month of Zilhaj (Dhul Hijjah), placing the 10th day of the month—Eid-ul-Adha—on May 27.

Turkey, in particular, follows a pre-determined Islamic calendar based on astronomical calculations rather than traditional naked-eye moon sighting, which often allows for earlier confirmation of religious dates compared to other countries.

The synchronized announcement from Tunisia and Turkey has provided early clarity on the festival schedule, as Muslim communities worldwide continue preparations for one of the most significant religious celebrations in the Islamic calendar.
