Nicosia, Mar 02 (V7N) – A drone attack has struck the British Royal Air Force base RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, causing minor damage, according to the UK Ministry of Defence.

Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides said the strike was carried out using an unmanned Shahed drone. He confirmed that the damage was limited and no major casualties were reported.

In a statement, the president emphasized that Cyprus is not participating in any military operations and has no intention of becoming involved in the conflict.

Christodoulides also said he remains in regular contact with European leaders as regional tensions continue to evolve.

Authorities are monitoring the situation while assessments of the damage and security implications remain ongoing.
