Beijing, Mar 2 (V7N) — China has strongly condemned the United States and Israel over their reported military strike that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, calling the action a serious violation of international law and Iran’s sovereignty.
In a statement issued Sunday, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the joint US–Israeli operation as a “grave infringement of Iran’s sovereignty and security” and said it contravenes the principles of the UN Charter and the fundamental norms governing international relations.
Beijing urged all parties to exercise restraint and immediately cease military operations to prevent further escalation in the region.
The United States and Israel have not immediately responded to China’s remarks. However, the reported strike has intensified global diplomatic tensions, prompting reactions from multiple capitals.
China’s statement underscores its longstanding position in favor of respecting national sovereignty and resolving disputes through diplomatic channels rather than military intervention. The development was also reported by BBC Bangla.
The situation continues to evolve amid growing concerns over regional stability and the potential for broader geopolitical repercussions.
