Jenin, Nov 28 (V7N) — Israeli forces have shot and killed two unarmed Palestinian men in the occupied West Bank, even as the pair were attempting to surrender, according to a Reuters report published Thursday (November 28).

The incident occurred in Jenin, where video footage shows Israeli soldiers surrounding a building. Two Palestinian youths — Montasser Abdullah and Yousef Asasa — are seen coming out of the building and lying on the ground in a clear act of surrender. Despite this, the soldiers opened fire and killed them.

In a brief statement, the Israeli authorities confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the shooting. However, the statement did not clarify why the soldiers opened fire despite the men’s attempt to surrender.

The killing has sparked renewed outrage and raised further questions over the conduct of Israeli forces during operations in the occupied territory.
