Jerusalem, Oct 13 (V7N) — The Palestinian Liberation Organization (Hamas) has handed over the remaining 13 Israeli prisoners to the Red Cross, according to Israeli sources reported by CNN News.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry has released the names of the newly freed hostages: Elkanah Bohbot (36), Rom Braslavsky (21), Nimrod Cohen (20), Ariel Cuneo (28), David Cuneo (35), Aviatar David (24), Maxim Harkin (37), Eitan Horn (38), Segev Kalfon (27), Bar Kuperstein (23), Yosef Haim Ohana (25), Abinatan Or (32), and Matan Zangaukar (25).
Earlier, in the first phase of the release, seven hostages were handed over to the Red Cross at 8 a.m. local time and have since arrived in Israel. Those released included Gali Berman, Ziv Berman, Eitan Abraham Mor, Omri Miran, Matan Angrest, Alon Ohel, and Guy Gilboa-Dalal. The BBC reported that these seven hostages recently crossed the Israeli border and are currently being taken to a primary reception center in southern Israel, where they will reunite with their families.
Hamas confirmed that all surviving Israeli prisoners in its custody have now been released, adding that the bodies of deceased prisoners will be handed over at a later date.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military released initial photographs of some hostages after their release. The images show Alon Ohel meeting with Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip and twin brothers Gali and Ziv Berman embracing each other.
