Gaza, Aug 20 (V7N) – The official media office in Gaza has reported that the death toll from ongoing Israeli military (IDF) attacks has exceeded 62,000, with at least 18,885 children among the dead.

The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned Tuesday that there is no longer a safe place for children in Gaza. The Israeli blockade has caused a severe shortage of food and medical supplies, pushing the enclave’s population to the brink of starvation.

Millions of displaced residents have sought refuge in UN-run schools amid relentless airstrikes. However, the shelters themselves have come under attack, with UNRWA describing them as having turned into “death camps for children.”

Citing UNICEF data, the agency noted that more than 540 children have been killed on average each month over the past five months of the war.
